Montpelier in Orange, Virginia was home to our fourth president James Madison. This past weekend it hosted the annual Montpelier Wine Festival. Twenty four premier Virginia wineries participated. There were crafts and live music as well. Gregory’s Grill was there serving up all the favorites including our signature crab cakes, fish tacos, fried oysters and creamy lump crab soup. The weather was a bit chilly and windy, just perfect for the soup that we made fresh on-site Saturday morning. There was a gorgeous meadow in front of our tents, perfect for dining, kite flying and napping. Quite a bit of each activity was going on. The topography was spectacular and the big blue skies made for a perfect day of wine tasting.
